We had a visit from Lee Anderson, MP for Ashfield, in school last week as part of UK Parliament Week. UK Parliament Week 2024 enabled over two million young people to learn about the work, role, and journey of Parliament members.
Our students had the opportunity to meet with Mr Anderson and discuss his role, both locally and nationally. It was an open forum in which students were encouraged to ask questions. Mr Anderson's feedback after the session was how successful it had been and he appreciated an opportunity to talk to local students about their concerns. Mr Anderson hopes to work with Outwood Academy Kirkby in the new year on other local events...... Watch this space!
